Jacqueline Bakamurera is a Senior Associate at CREST LAW, bringing broad and deep experience across civil, criminal, family, and labour law in Rwanda. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the National University of Rwanda and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD).
Before joining Crest Law, Jacqueline served in the Rwandan judiciary where she adjudicated complex criminal matters — including genocide cases — developing a rigorous command of criminal procedure, evidence, and the principles of transitional justice. During her time in judicial service she also provided expert advisory on human resources issues and directly participated in the amendment of both the Rwandan Penal Code and the Family Code, contributing to the country's ongoing law reform process.
Her practice at Crest Law spans civil litigation, employment and labour disputes, family law, and commercial matters. Jacqueline is known for her thoroughness, client-centred counsel, and the depth of understanding she brings to each matter — qualities forged through years of judicial and advocacy work across Rwanda's legal landscape.
